JK Data Services (JKDS) supplies services to assist those who plan, implement, and maintain 800 number routing to destinations based on logical plans. Our software systems are independent of any particular network vendor, and the completed network plan can easily be implemented on or transported to a variety of 800 network vendor's equipment.

Our software, known as JKDS-800-Plan, captures the logical layout and routing specifications in generic formats. This plan is available at all times for modification and revision. Because the logical plan is always available, it can be evaluated for real world outside influences such as area code splits, area code overlays, and exchanges being added and deleted.

The software uses two databases supplied by Jay Computer Services, a sister company, to evaluate and implement the Area Code, Exchange, and Zip Code definitions and changes. click to visit their site.

The software processes the network logical plan to produce a physical plan usually consisting of lists of area codes and exchanges to which calls are to be routed to particular nodes on the network. This physical plan can be transformed into a variety of machine sensible outputs for individual 800 network equipment vendors for direct update.

Because the logical plan is retained, and can be easily updated to reflect both normal network maintenance, and for outside environment changes such as area code splits and overlays, and the physical plan is also maintained, it is possible to generate only "net change" activity for the physical network, thereby simplifying physical network maintenance significantly.

The task of evaluation of "splatter" effects of logical network changes is usually difficult and daunting. Many designers need capabilities like "this whole county", this series of zip codes, or "35 miles around this area code/exchange", or .... Without our solution, designers must evaluate the effects by hand. We automatically incorporate changes while adjusting other locations for the effects of changes everywhere.

The JKDS solution has routing duplication resolution modules, and flexible resolution "fairness" modules to assist the designer.

All of this is coupled with the software's flexible output capability. Don't like your current vendor? If you are using the JKDS solution, we will supply an interface to a new vendor's network maintenance interface, and the designer doesn't change a thing.
